Tax & Legal Quality & Risk Assistant Manager

About the role

The Tax & Legal (T&L) Quality & Risk Assistant Manager will act as a trusted advisor and subject‑matter resource for reputation, quality and risk management across the Philippines and broader SEA region. This position supports T&L personnel with practical, timely guidance while fostering a strong risk‑aware culture.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Philippine T&L Leader and SEA Quality & Risk Leader to implement quality and risk strategies.
• Develop and nurture a consultation network and intelligent risk culture within the T&L practice.
• Assist in creating policies, processes, tools and templates that ensure efficient, compliant client engagements.
• Provide consultation on queries from Philippine and SEA T&L personnel.
• Review legal documents daily (contracts, NDAs, engagement letters, bidding documents) and liaise with client legal teams to manage contractual risks.
• Oversee client and engagement acceptance and risk assessment processes.
• Track and monitor T&L personnel compliance with firm policies and support disciplinary communications.
• Deliver online and offline risk‑management learning programs to T&L professionals.
• Manage work priorities independently, maintain communication with the SEA Quality & Risk team, and promptly escalate issues when needed.
• Perform other tasks to support the T&L quality and risk program as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent).
• At least 3 years of professional services experience, preferably in risk management, quality, compliance, legal, tax or related advisory roles.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines, with sound judgement to escalate early.
• High attention to detail, sound judgement and thoughtful risk‑identification capabilities.
• Independent work style while staying actively connected with regional colleagues via virtual collaboration.
• Resilience, professionalism and capacity to handle competing priorities and periods of increased workload.
• Willingness to be based in Manila and travel overseas when required.
