Tax and General Ledger Accountant

About the role

The Tax and General Ledger Accountant ensures the company complies with all tax laws and maintains the integrity of the general ledger. This role supports month‑end and year‑end closing, prepares statutory filings, and coordinates regulatory submissions such as PEZA requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, file and remit corporate income tax, withholding taxes, fringe benefits tax, final taxes, VAT and other applicable taxes.
• Monitor tax law changes and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Maintain complete tax records and support audits with internal teams and external consultants.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations by product line and investigate reconciling items.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, provisions and other month‑end adjustments.
• Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing to deliver accurate financial reports.
• Prepare and submit PEZA applications, incentive reports and other statutory filings to BIR and relevant agencies.
• Support internal and external audit schedules and contribute to process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in taxation and general‑ledger accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine tax regulations, accounting standards and PEZA compliance.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
