Structural Engineer – Revit & AutoCAD (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Structural Engineer with strong Revit and AutoCAD skills to join a small architectural firm that focuses on custom residential and small commercial projects. The role is fully remote and involves taking projects from concept through to completed construction documents while working closely with a single architect.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare structural calculations, layouts, and construction documents for custom residential and small commercial projects.
• Produce and manage structural drawings independently in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Design wood‑frame structural systems, including foundations, walls, floors, and roof framing.
• Coordinate steel components and connections where required.
• Collaborate directly with the architect to develop code‑compliant structural solutions.
• Review architectural drawings and provide structural input during design development.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Revise drawings and calculations in response to client, permitting, or field comments.
• Maintain organized project documentation and adhere to schedules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience in residential and/or small commercial projects.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience producing independent structural drawings without drafting support.
• Strong knowledge of wood‑frame construction; familiarity with steel framing.
• Understanding of structural design principles, building codes, and construction practices.
• Ability to work independently in a small‑firm environment.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure is a plus.
