Structural Design Engineer – Hybrid Night Shift

About the role

MicroSourcing is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to lead the design and certification of residential and light‑commercial projects. The position works on a hybrid schedule with night‑shift hours, allowing flexibility while supporting project delivery across the Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as design lead and certifying engineer on single‑family residential and light commercial structural projects.
• Perform structural analysis and design of wood, masonry, and framing systems, including metal‑plate‑connected wood trusses and engineered wood products.
• Oversee foundation design, covering both shallow/spread and deep foundation solutions.
• Develop structural calculations and detailed construction documents.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and consultants to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Respond to RFIs, conduct job‑site and design reviews, and support construction activities.
• Read and interpret engineering specifications, drawings, and contracts.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of structural engineering experience with wood and masonry structures.
• Experience with residential projects; commercial exposure is a plus.
• US experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work on projects up to three stories involving steel, wood, masonry, and concrete.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
• Experience with RISA 3D for structural analysis.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Florida Building Code and International Building Code.
