Staff Accountant (Remote, Full‑time)

About the role

TOA Global is looking for a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to support US tax planning, state sales tax, and full‑charge bookkeeping for a dynamic US accounting firm. This remote, full‑time position is based in the Philippines and works with modern workflow and automation tools to deliver accurate financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business US tax returns and compile tax‑planning workpapers.
• Build sales‑tax spreadsheets, prepare state sales‑tax returns and submit them on time.
• Enter data and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online and Desktop, researching historical data as needed.
• Post monthly payroll journal entries and ensure payroll tax reports reconcile with the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly financial statement packages (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) within Karbon budget times.
• Manage tasks and work cards in Karbon, tracking billable hours and meeting firm completion targets.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on US bookkeeping/accounting experience in a public accounting or BPO firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, high numeric accuracy, proactive problem‑solving and strong time‑management habits.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Karbon workflow management.
• QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) expertise.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with modern accounting automation tools.
