Staff Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Settlement team within a leading global payments company. The role will support month‑end and year‑end close, maintain accurate records, and contribute to process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure regulatory compliance, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, delivering timely reporting, proper cut‑offs, and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports and summaries in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Identify inefficiencies, drive automation initiatives and contribute to standardisation of accounting processes.
• Assist with regulatory filings, internal and external audits, and uphold internal controls and data security policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with at least 2 years of experience in reconciliation, audit or financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills with high integrity.
• CPA certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Experience in credit‑card processing, banking or financial services and exposure to Big 4 or public‑accounting audit environments is advantageous.

Required skills

• Oracle Financials or comparable ERP system.
• Proficiency with ERP platforms.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting standards.
