Specialist, Project Financial Management

About the role

The Specialist, Project Financial Management supports Aurecon’s client engagements throughout the project lifecycle. You will act as the central hub for project set‑up, financial tracking, invoicing and reporting within Workday, ensuring accurate and timely financial information for both revenue‑generating and non‑revenue projects.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and maintain revenue‑generating and non‑revenue projects in Workday, meeting a 24‑hour turnaround SLA.
• Manage project hierarchies, time‑tracking periods, and weekly timesheet processes.
• Generate and verify client invoices, close projects, and reconcile budgets to billed amounts.
• Ensure compliance with Aurecon internal policies and Delegation of Authority.
• Maintain data integrity and produce exception reports throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with month‑end revenue recognition and periodic project population management.
• Provide time‑analysis reporting to identify unrecorded, over‑ or under‑utilised time.
• Participate in semi‑annual regression testing of the Workday Financials platform.
• Liaise with Workday IT support and finance teams to resolve system issues and answer queries.

Required profile

• Experience in project financial management or similar finance roles.
• Strong understanding of ERP/Workday financial processes.
• Attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy.
• Capability to work collaboratively with accountants, IT, and project teams.
