Software Engineer – GIS Solutions for Telecom

About the role

MicroSourcing is looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain GIS solutions that support OSP fiber network design, engineering, and construction planning. The role is fully remote and offers a collaborative environment focused on innovation in telecom GIS.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage GIS solutions for fiber network design and construction planning.
• Build custom geoprocessing tools and automate workflows using Python, ArcPy, Pandas, and NumPy.
• Create interactive web‑based mapping applications with ArcGIS API for JavaScript, Leaflet, or OpenLayers.
• Integrate GIS data with CAD platforms such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Perform spatial analysis, route optimization, feasibility assessments, and cost estimation.
• Configure and administer ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Portal for ArcGIS environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of GIS development experience, preferably in telecommunications or construction.
• Strong proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online.
• Extensive experience with Python scripting for GIS automation (ArcPy, Jupyter, GDAL, Pandas, NumPy).
• Solid knowledge of SQL databases (PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle) and spatial data management.
