About the role

Globe is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable web applications using Node.js and React.js. The role focuses on delivering secure, high-performance solutions that meet both business and technical requirements while embracing modern cloud and automation practices.

Key responsibilities

Develop, enhance and maintain backend services with Node.js and JavaScript.
Implement responsive front-end interfaces using React.js, Tailwind CSS and Flexbox.
Design and consume RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability, performance and continuous improvement.
Participate in CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git) and automated testing.
Manage and optimise databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB) and related ETL processes.
Utilise cloud services on AWS and/or GCP, including serverless functions, container technologies and managed databases.

Required profile

3–5 years of professional software development and application maintenance experience.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and debugging abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in a team.
Goal-oriented, proactive and committed to continuous improvement.

Required skills

Node.js, JavaScript, React.js, Tailwind CSS, Flexbox.
ORM tools such as Sequelize.
RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture.
CI/CD, Git.
MS SQL Server (Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, SQL Agent Jobs, SSRS, SSIS, ETL), MySQL, PostgreSQL.
DynamoDB, schema design, query optimisation.
AWS and/or GCP services (compute, containers, messaging, serverless functions, managed databases).
Low-code platforms (e.g., AppSheet) – advantage.
Python and Playwright for test or RPA automation – advantage.
