Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Software Developer to join Emerson’s global Systems and Software organization. You will design, build and enhance modern web and backend solutions that support enterprise‑level distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain web‑based and backend applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs that serve as standard system interfaces.
• Build and optimise data‑access layers using document‑based (MongoDB) and relational (SQL, LINQ) databases.
• Apply sound software architecture principles and document solutions clearly.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve issues in commercial and internal software.
• Continuously learn and apply modern development tools, frameworks and methodologies.

Required profile

• Innovative mindset with a focus on delivering practical, bottom‑line results.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work effectively across teams and share useful information.

Required skills

• TypeScript, React, JavaScript.
• ASP.NET, C#.
• Design and consumption of RESTful APIs.
• MongoDB, SQL‑based databases, LINQ.
• Experience with Azure SQL or similar cloud databases (preferred).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure coding.
• Exposure to containers, messaging technologies, event‑driven architectures.
• Understanding of DevOps and continuous integration practices.
