Senior Tax Associate – Financial Services

About the role

Aprio PH is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join its Business Operations – Corp Operations team. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality tax compliance and advisory services for financial‑services clients, including hedge funds, private equity firms, broker‑dealers, investment managers, high‑net‑worth individuals and family offices.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex tax returns for partnership and corporate entities (forms 1065, 1120, 1120‑F, 8865, 8886, 8621, 5471, 1042, PFIC statements, FBARs, etc.).
• Develop tax workpapers, schedule K‑1s/K‑3s, tax estimates and related filings.
• Research tax issues, draft planning memoranda, tax opinions and resolution memos.
• Assist with federal, state and local tax notices, EIN applications, check‑the‑box elections and W‑9/W‑8 documentation.
• Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.
• Utilize tax preparation software to process returns and ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with managers, partners and clients throughout the engagement lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (MST a plus).
• 3‑5 years of progressive tax compliance experience in a CPA or law firm serving financial‑services clients.
• CPA license or EA designation is advantageous.
• Hands‑on experience with partnership and high‑net‑worth/family‑office tax compliance.
• Strong research, writing, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work additional hours to meet client deadlines.
• Willingness to work dayshift and a hybrid work arrangement.
