Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

The Senior Tax Accountant (Australia) will support Business Services by preparing tax returns and workpapers for multiple clients assigned by partners or client counterparts. The role includes managing client‑portfolio tasks, meeting deadlines, and communicating with the engagement team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns and fringe benefits tax returns.
• Prepare special‑purpose financial reports and Business Activity Statements.
• Perform tax planning and ensure compliance with organisational guidelines, regulations and Australian tax laws.
• Develop workpapers in line with firm standards and assist with quarterly and annual tax compliance matters.
• Provide general business administration support.

Required profile

• BS Accountancy graduate; CPA or non‑CPA qualification.
• 3–5 years of finance/accounting or tax preparation experience, including Australian tax compliance.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Analytical/problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Intermediate‑level Excel (Vlookup, Xlookup, pivot tables, SUMIFS, tables).
• Experience with Advanced Professional Solutions (APS) and/or Xero.
