Senior System Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to join the infrastructure team of a leading iGaming company in Manila. The role involves managing and optimizing the company’s servers, networks, and backup environments while ensuring high availability and security.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and monitor operating systems and network structures.
• Debug malfunctioning programs that affect system integrity and performance.
• Modify system and network architectures to meet evolving business needs.
• Create autonomous system backups and manage backup policies.
• Set up and maintain system monitoring environments to ensure availability.
• Regularly update and enforce system security protocols.
• Participate in monthly on‑call rotations, including out‑of‑office hours and weekends.

Required profile

• Proven work experience with Linux‑based operating systems.
• Recent experience with web‑based (ideally Java) technologies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work flexible hours.
• Willingness to be on‑call for system monitoring outside regular hours.

Required skills

• Linux (CentOS, RedHat) administration
• VMware vSphere installation, management and performance tuning
• NGINX configuration, tuning and troubleshooting
• Shell or Python scripting
• Network IPSEC tunnel setup on Linux
• Java‑based application runtime tuning and monitoring
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix or PRTG
• Backup methodology design and implementation
• DDoS protection services (Cloudflare, Nexusguard, Imperva/Incapsula)
• Public cloud platforms (AWS, IBM Cloud)
