Senior Specialist – Global SOX

About the role

3M is seeking a Senior Specialist to join its Global Service Center in the Philippines and support the execution of Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) engagements. The role focuses on performing walkthroughs, testing controls, and collaborating with global audit teams to ensure compliance with the internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) framework.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct end‑to‑end business process walkthroughs and assess control design.
• Execute SOX engagements of varying risk levels, documenting process flows, control risk, and test matrices.
• Identify control design and operational deficiencies and communicate findings to the Global SOX Process Lead.
• Assist with remediation plan monitoring, evidence reviews, and effectiveness assessments.
• Ensure timely completion of tasks according to the annual SOX calendar.
• Partner with process owners to incorporate system, configuration, and business changes into test plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, CISA, or CIA are preferred.
• Minimum of 2 + years of experience in SOX compliance or related internal‑control work.

Required skills

• SOX compliance knowledge.
• Understanding of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
• Experience with process walkthroughs and control design assessments.
