Senior Rail Engineer – Civil & Structural (Manila)

About the role

Arup is seeking a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex rail and infrastructure projects across the Philippines and the wider East Asia region. Based in Manila, you will work with global rail experts and multidisciplinary teams to create high‑quality, innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of civil and structural elements for rail and major infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports, ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards and design codes.
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
• Conduct site inspections and offer engineering support during design and construction phases.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Civil or Structural Engineering degree with Professional Engineer registration (or equivalent).
• Minimum six years of experience delivering complex infrastructure projects in a consulting environment.
• Strong background in viaducts, bridges, railway stations or similar structures; rail experience highly desirable.
• Excellent knowledge of Philippine and international codes (NSCP, DPWH, ASCE, ACI, AISC, AASHTO, ASTM, BS, Eurocodes).
• Willingness to travel across East and Southeast Asia for project delivery and development.
