Senior Migration Health Associate – Project MERLA

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Migration Health Associate to lead the MERLA project in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. Based in Marawi City, the role supports the design, implementation and monitoring of health programmes for migrants and displaced populations, working closely with local health authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse health‑related data using statistical and analytical techniques, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
• Identify data sources, design efficient collection methods and organise raw data for reporting.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to detect trends, gaps and opportunities.
• Produce validated analytical reports that inform programme decisions and policy.
• Provide technical support for knowledge management, documenting good practices and lessons learned.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Health (BARMM), Department of Health Region 9 and provincial health offices to ensure quality data collection and programme monitoring.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics or a related field.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in health data analysis and programme monitoring in humanitarian or migration contexts.
• Proven ability to work with government agencies and international partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
