Senior Mechanical Engineer – MEP Consulting (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of complex HVAC projects across commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, and mixed‑use developments. This remote position offers the chance to act as Engineer of Record, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead analysis, design, and integration of advanced mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Develop detailed calculations, design narratives, specifications, and work plans with minimal supervision.
• Serve as Engineer of Record, guaranteeing technical accuracy and quality for all deliverables.
• Oversee HVAC system design, including equipment selection, load calculations, ventilation design, energy analysis, and system optimization.
• Review and provide technical guidance on documents prepared by team members.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and designers.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, technical challenges, and workflow issues.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with plumbing, electrical, fire protection, structural, and architectural disciplines.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing, and client communications.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observations.
• Support business development through client presentations and proposal preparation.

Required profile

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with extensive mechanical system design experience.
• Proven track record leading large‑scale HVAC projects.
• Strong client management and team‑leadership abilities.
• Experience acting as Engineer of Record.
