Senior Manager - Data Engineering

About the role

RingCentral is looking for a Senior Manager of Data Engineering in Manila to lead a team of data engineers, from junior to senior level, who will build and scale the data infrastructure powering the company's revenue platform. The role owns the design, development and delivery of a revenue data mart into a reliable, well-governed source of truth for finance, sales and executive reporting. It is a hands-on leadership role involving technical direction, mentoring engineers and partnering with Finance, Revenue Operations, Analytics and Product.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of data engineers, including hiring and performance management.
• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for the revenue data mart, supporting revenue recognition, billing, forecasting and executive reporting.
• Architect and oversee data pipelines across Hadoop, Oracle, Snowflake, AWS S3 and PostgreSQL, and integrate with systems such as Marketo, Salesforce, Anaplan and NetSuite.
• Partner with BI teams to structure the data mart for reporting and dashboarding in Tableau and Sigma.
• Identify opportunities to apply ML/AI techniques such as anomaly detection and forecasting to improve pipeline reliability and revenue insights.
• Drive engineering best practices: data modeling, ETL/ELT design, orchestration, testing, CI/CD and data quality/observability.
• Manage sprint planning and delivery using Agile/Scrum, and establish data governance, security and compliance standards (e.g. SOX).
• Optimize pipeline performance and cost across on-prem and cloud environments, own incident management and root-cause resolution, and communicate progress and risks to senior leadership.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with 3+ years in a management or technical leadership role.
• Proven experience managing a team of data engineers across experience levels.
• Strong background building data marts or warehouses, ideally for finance or revenue use cases.
• Excellent stakeholder management across Finance, Analytics and Engineering; experience with Agile/Scrum.
• Preferred: revenue recognition, billing or SaaS revenue data experience; familiarity with data governance, lineage and cataloging tools; CI/CD for data pipelines (dbt, Jenkins, GitHub Actions); migration from on-prem to cloud; background in a high-growth SaaS or telecom environment.

• Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Spark, HDFS), Oracle, Snowflake, AWS S3, PostgreSQL
• ETL/ELT design, dimensional data modeling, orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Control-M)
• SQL performance tuning and large-scale data processing
• Python for data pipelines, automation and data processing
• Cloud data architecture and cost/performance optimization on AWS
• Working knowledge of Marketo, Salesforce, Anaplan and NetSuite; familiarity with Tableau and Sigma
• General knowledge of ML/AI concepts; some experience with agentic AI is preferred
