Senior Hardware Engineer – Complex Systems Design

About the role

The Senior Hardware Engineer is a key technical leader responsible for designing and developing complex hardware systems for Allegro's cutting‑edge products. This role requires deep technical expertise and ownership of significant portions of a project, from architectural definition through final validation and release.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of high‑performance circuits and systems, making critical architectural and component trade‑off decisions.
• Design and develop PCB layouts, ensuring full compliance with company guidelines and industry best practices.
• Create and maintain electronic component libraries, including schematic symbols and PCB land patterns, following IPC and internal standards.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct thorough design reviews, and help develop their technical problem‑solving skills.
• Generate, validate, and release comprehensive PCB fabrication packages, consistently meeting project deadlines.
• Identify and champion initiatives to improve design processes, tools, and methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Typically 5+ years of progressive experience in hardware engineering, delivering complex products from concept to production.
• Proficiency with EDA tools such as Altium Designer (preferred) and Cadence Allegro Design Entry HDL/PCB Designer.
• Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) applications.
