Senior Global Material Planner

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Global Material Planner to lead material flow, inventory control and supplier forecasting across our worldwide network of suppliers and contract manufacturers. The role ensures that production and customer service demands are met while supporting corporate inventory and logistics cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop efficient production material supply plans considering master production schedule, plant capacity, supplier lead times, logistics risks and inventory cost.
• Update long‑term material forecasts and communicate with high‑complexity suppliers.
• Validate material schedules with suppliers and internal stakeholders to obtain alignment.
• Process production material purchase requisitions and orders, maintaining accurate open‑order documentation.
• Monitor open orders to ensure timely deliveries, correct quantities and cost.
• Identify and mitigate risks of material obsolescence or excess, including supporting engineering change implementations.
• Maintain constant communication with suppliers to address short‑ and long‑term order concerns.
• Identify supply risks using data, escalate quickly and work with suppliers to resolve issues.
• Support departmental or company‑wide process improvement initiatives and lead key projects.
• Address day‑to‑day material flow issues and develop tactical plans to avoid disruptions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in material planning or supply chain management in a global manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret production schedules, inventory data and supplier capacity.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with internal functions (Purchasing, Production Control, Quality, Logistics, Finance) and external suppliers.
• Ability to lead process‑improvement projects and drive cross‑functional initiatives.
• Proactive mindset to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
