Senior Data Engineer – AWS Cloud‑Native Platforms

About the role

Sharesource is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and support modern cloud‑native data platforms on AWS. You will lead the creation of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data lake solutions, and ensure data quality for downstream analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud‑native data engineering platforms on AWS.
• Develop and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and processing.
• Architect data lake solutions handling structured, semi‑structured, and unstructured data.
• Integrate data from APIs, SaaS platforms, databases, streaming services, and file‑based systems.
• Apply AWS‑managed services and modern design principles for performance and cost efficiency.
• Implement data governance, quality checks, validation, and monitoring frameworks.
• Provide operational support, troubleshoot issues, and continuously optimise pipelines.
• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to deliver reporting‑ready datasets.

Required profile

• 5+ years delivering enterprise data engineering solutions.
• Strong experience designing cloud‑native data platforms on AWS.
• Proven track record with modern data lake architectures.
• Hands‑on experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with structured, semi‑structured, and unstructured data.
• Experience integrating data from APIs, SaaS, databases, streaming, and file sources.
• Ability to operate production‑grade data platforms with robust monitoring and quality controls.
