Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

The Senior Cost Accountant will ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting across our manufacturing operations. You will act as a key liaison between finance, logistics, sales, and European entities to support cost‑related decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Review purchase orders, bills of materials and production routings for cost accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain monthly inventory reports, roll‑forwards, reconciliations and scrap analyses.
• Execute detailed COGS analysis and fluctuation reporting during month‑end and quarter‑end closes.
• Partner with Logistics and Sales Operations to resolve cost, inventory and supply‑chain issues.
• Support European entities on product‑cost and inventory matters.
• Collaborate with IT to keep cost‑accounting systems current and enable ad‑hoc analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls and audit requirements.
• Assist with annual physical inventory counts and cost roll‑forward functions.
• Conduct ad‑hoc inventory valuation analyses as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience).
• CPA, CMA, or advanced degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, supply‑chain and operational flows.
• Detail‑oriented with a high regard for accuracy.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven setting.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Familiarity with Power BI or similar data‑visualisation tools.
