Senior Construction Safety Officer

About the role

The Senior Construction Safety Officer leads all occupational health and safety activities on the project site, ensuring full compliance with DOLE Occupational Safety and Health standards, project‑specific safety requirements, and company HSE policies. The role supervises site Safety Officers, drives proactive risk management, and fosters a strong safety culture throughout project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the Construction Safety and Health Program (CSHP).
• Supervise and mentor Safety Officers and Safety Aides assigned to the project.
• Conduct daily site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
• Prepare Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with DOLE OSH standards and company safety policies.
• Facilitate toolbox meetings, safety orientations, and training sessions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near‑misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor permit‑to‑work systems for high‑risk activities.
• Coordinate emergency response drills and preparedness activities.
• Oversee proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports.
• Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, and government inspectors during audits.
• Recommend improvements to safety systems and continuous HSE initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Occupational Safety, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead safety role.
• Experience in vertical and horizontal construction projects (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Philippine construction safety regulations.
• DOLE‑accredited Safety Officer 3 (SO3) certification (minimum).
• Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) Training Certificate.
• Standard First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), and CPR with AED certification.
• Safety Officer 4 (SO4) certification is an advantage.
• Valid driver’s license (preferred).
