Senior Android Engineer

About the role

Maya is seeking a senior Android engineer to own complex product features from concept to production. You will make technical decisions with minimal guidance, mentor teammates, and ensure high‑quality, secure, and scalable mobile solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor Android applications, features, and SDKs.
• Create reusable components and modules while enforcing code quality standards.
• Achieve at least 90% unit‑test coverage and maintain a 99% crash‑free rate.
• Produce technical documentation and help standardize development processes.
• Collaborate with product, design/UX, and backend teams in a cross‑functional environment.
• Participate actively in scrum ceremonies and share technical knowledge.

Required profile

• 5‑8+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin; comfortable with Java, Gradle, and legacy codebases.
• Deep knowledge of UI development using XML and Jetpack Compose, including state management and accessibility.
• Experience with clean‑architecture patterns (MVP, MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture) and ability to discuss trade‑offs.
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, RxJava, Coroutines, Flow, and structured concurrency.
• Familiarity with local storage options such as SQL databases, DataStore, and SharedPreferences.
• Commitment to security best practices and performance monitoring.
