Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will support finance, accounting, payroll, reporting, compliance and administrative functions for an Australian‑focused business, working remotely from the Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts and company credit cards, import invoices from FileMaker into MYOB and ensure accurate matching.
• Enter supplier purchases, technician invoices, reimbursements and credit‑card transactions in MYOB, and process payments and ABA files.
• Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly cash‑flow, budget, profit‑and‑loss and director‑loan reports.
• Lodge BAS and IAS with the Australian Taxation Office and manage payroll tax for NSW and QLD.
• Run fortnightly and weekly payroll for local and overseas employees and handle taxable payments reporting for subcontractors.
• Assist with debt collection, liaise with external accountants, migration agents, insurers and other service providers.
• Maintain asset registers, inventory, vehicle documentation and workers‑compensation filings.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accountant with extensive experience supporting Australian businesses.
• Highly professional, reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates sound judgement and discretion when handling financial, payroll and compliance matters.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of MYOB and experience with FileMaker or similar systems.
• Proficiency in Australian BAS, IAS, payroll tax preparation and taxable payments reporting.
• Expertise in bank reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash‑flow management, budgeting and month‑end reporting.
• Ability to manage intercompany accounts, directors’ loans and recurring reporting deadlines.
