Risk Communication and Community Engagement Specialist

About the role

The Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) Specialist will support WHO Philippines in planning, implementing and monitoring risk communication activities during health emergencies, outbreaks and disasters across the Western Pacific Region. Working under the supervision of the RCCE Technical Officer, the specialist will contribute to strengthening community engagement and countering misinformation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the planning, implementation and monitoring of risk communication activities during outbreak response, disasters and graded emergencies.
• Support social listening efforts to monitor and respond to misinformation and disinformation.
• Develop and maintain a regional message bank of IEC materials using WPRO message‑testing approaches and coordinate clearance processes.
• Co‑facilitate capacity‑building activities on all‑hazards emergency preparedness, readiness and response.
• Strengthen partnerships by managing and regularly engaging the BRIDGE networks.
• Assist in organising Asia Pacific Health Security Action Framework (APHSAF) community‑engagement events.

Required profile

• Experience in risk communication, public health emergencies or community engagement.
• Ability to work under supervision of a senior technical officer.
• Familiarity with outbreak response processes and emergency operations centres.
