Revenue Accountant

About the role

Five9, a leading cloud contact‑center software provider, is looking for a Revenue Accountant to join its Philippines office. The role requires an active CPA and strong communication skills to work with U.S.‑based teams in a fast‑paced environment. You will be responsible for accurate revenue recognition, COGS analysis and supporting audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess sales contracts for revenue treatment under U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
• Prepare journal entries for revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable and COGS, including third‑party cost accruals.
• Perform month‑end and quarter‑end close activities, reconciliations and variance analysis for revenue and COGS.
• Support vendor invoice review, purchase order reconciliation and resolve discrepancies with AP and Sales Operations.
• Assist internal and external audits by providing reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Participate in process improvement projects, SOX compliance and AI‑assisted workflow automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum three years of accounting or finance experience, CPA required.
• Big 4 or public accounting background with revenue recognition experience, including ASC 606 adoption.
• Experience working with SaaS/software companies and night‑shift or US‑time schedules.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• NetSuite and Salesforce familiarity.
• Knowledge of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue accounting.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
