Remote Tax Accountant – Independent Contractor

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Tax Accountant to join our team remotely. This independent‑contractor position supports daily accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation for a variety of entities while offering hands‑on experience with multiple accounting platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns, activity statements and fringe benefits tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, trusts and self‑managed super funds.
• Draft financial statements and accounting reports.
• Perform accurate data entry and bookkeeping tasks.
• Utilise MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks and Sage for daily accounting operations.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Ability to work independently with virtual support.
• Reliable computer, internet connection and willingness to learn new systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MYOB.
• Proficiency with Xero.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Proficiency with Sage.
• Medium‑level Microsoft Excel skills.
