Remote Network Administrator

About the role

The Proactive Team Network Administrator is a senior technical resource responsible for managing escalations, driving automation, and delivering high‑quality proactive service. This remote position focuses on reducing operational noise, maintaining robust documentation, and mentoring technicians to improve performance and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and refine processes for proactive service alerts (patching, disk space, antivirus, hardware/software alerts) and ensure they are actionable and KPI‑driven.
• Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for technicians, engineers and operational teams, providing guidance and resolution.
• Partner with Team Leads to identify skill gaps and develop technicians into Tier 2‑level engineers through training and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools, leading adoption of automation best practices across the team.
• Create and maintain SOPs, knowledge‑base entries and technical guidelines that meet internal and industry standards.
• Collaborate with the Proactive Service Manager and operations leaders to align technical initiatives with business objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in IT support, systems or network administration.
• Proven technical leadership in IT services, cybersecurity or similar environments.
• Extensive experience handling Tier 3 escalations across diverse server environments.
• Strong background in Windows Server administration and networking.
• Excellent problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis and project leadership skills.
• Effective communication and mentorship abilities.

• Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP)
• Network configuration and troubleshooting (VPN, VLAN, firewalls, switches)
• Virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V)
• Microsoft 365 administration
• Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python or similar)
• Documentation and SOP creation
