Remote Australian Tax Accountant (Malaysia/Philippines/Australia)

About the role

TT Accountancy Pty Ltd is seeking a full‑time Remote Australian Tax Accountant to join its distributed team. The position is open to candidates based in Malaysia, the Philippines, or Australia and focuses on preparing and reviewing Australian tax returns for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review Australian tax returns and schedules for individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFs.
• Manage tax planning, advisory tasks and ensure compliance with ATO regulations.
• Reconcile accounts, prepare or review financial statements in line with Australian accounting standards.
• Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders, respond to tax queries, and support automation initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records, meet deadlines and communicate effectively within a remote team.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, CA or equivalent advantageous.
• Strong experience with Australian tax legislation and ATO systems.
• Ability to work remotely, manage multiple deadlines and uphold confidentiality.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and client‑focused communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks.
• Experience in BAS preparation, payroll and bookkeeping.
• Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and financial statement preparation.
