Remote AU Accountant / Bookkeeper (Day Shift)

About the role

A remote, day-shift AU Accountant position for a client accounting and business advisory firm specialising in taxation, financial reporting, bookkeeping and cloud accounting. The firm works with businesses of all sizes and uses a fixed-fee model. Candidates must be based in the Philippines. Pay is $2,000-$2,500 AUD per month under an independent contractor agreement, with flexible scheduling around Australian business hours (about 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday).

Key responsibilities

• Manage client bill payments and accounts administration.
• Process payroll accurately and on time.
• Perform Xero reconciliations across multiple client accounts.
• Assist with month-end reporting and management accounting.
• Work with key clients on procurement and supply chain processes.
• Assist with financial modelling in Excel, management reports and spreadsheet analysis.
• Support bookkeeping, BAS preparation and general accounting functions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and meet client deadlines.

Required profile

• CPA qualified or working towards CPA (preferred but not essential).
• At least 3 years of experience supporting Australian accounting clients.
• Strong hands-on Xero experience.
• Good written and spoken English and ability to work independently.
• Nice to have: outsourced accounting experience, BAS preparation, Dext and Asana familiarity.
