Release Manager – Software Development (Remote, Philippines)

About the role

The client is seeking a Release Manager to work remotely from the Philippines. You will act as the bridge between development, QA and stakeholders, ensuring that software releases are delivered on schedule, with the correct content and minimal risk.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end release cycle – planning, scheduling, coordination, execution and retrospective.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to define release scope, track dependencies and resolve blockers.
• Manage release branches and tags in Git, including cherry‑picks, rebases, hot‑fixes and merge‑conflict resolution across concurrent release trains.
• Drive Azure DevOps workflows: Boards for sprint planning, Repos for branch policies and PR gates, Pipelines for build/release definitions and approval gates.
• Produce clear, stakeholder‑focused release notes and run go/no‑go meetings with risk assessments.
• Track and communicate release status to internal and client stakeholders.
• Identify and fix bottlenecks in the software development lifecycle.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in release management, QA coordination or a DevOps‑adjacent role.
• Hands‑on QA experience, understanding of test cycles and defect triage.
• Strong Git expertise – cherry‑picking, rebasing, conflict resolution and branch management.
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps Boards, Repos and Pipelines; ability to read and troubleshoot YAML pipelines.
• Solid grasp of the SDLC, Agile/Scrum ceremonies and definition of done.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
