Quality Specialist – Launch Team

About the role

Join Ball’s launch team as a Quality Specialist and drive the start‑up performance of new builds, new lines and line conversions. You will ensure that products meet quality, food‑safety and environmental standards from the first production run through to stable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve efficiency and spoilage targets for all new‑line start‑ups in line with approved curves.
• Lead quality performance during start‑up, delivering compliant and specification‑conforming product.
• Monitor processes, materials and outputs continuously, taking immediate corrective action on deviations.
• Oversee inspections, audits and material checks, ensuring the local quality team follows required standards.
• Maintain, calibrate and validate all gauges, inspection devices and measurement equipment.
• Track quality trends, identify early variation signals and initiate corrective or preventive actions.
• Support the Plant Quality Manager with ISO, HACCP and other regulatory system implementation.
• Execute SOPs, SPC and other quality tools to ensure process repeatability during ramp‑up.
• Train production and quality staff on process understanding, defect prevention and food‑safety practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a quality role within manufacturing, preferably with new‑line start‑up projects.
• Demonstrated ability to meet efficiency, spoilage and quality KPIs.
• Strong knowledge of environmental and food‑safety regulations.
• Experience leading audits, inspections and training programmes.
