Quality Inspector I

About the role

UCT is seeking a Quality Inspector I to support its fast‑growing semiconductor manufacturing operations in the Philippines. The role focuses on ensuring that raw materials, components and finished assemblies meet strict quality and safety standards through systematic inspection and testing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical inspections of raw materials, components, fabricated parts, first‑article, receiving, in‑process and final assemblies.
• Measure parts and assemblies using hand‑held tools and coordinate‑measuring machines.
• Generate detailed inspection reports and non‑conformance documentation.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, travelers, specifications and BOMs to verify compliance.
• Provide quality‑related support to internal departments, suppliers and customers.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and basic database software.
• Computer literacy and basic math abilities.
• Ability to read and apply production instructions, engineering drawings, BOM schematics and specifications.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) knowledge.
• Mechanical measurement techniques.
• Use of hand‑held tools such as micrometers, calipers and optical comparators.
• Operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for basic measurements.
• Understanding of machining, paint, power‑coat and plating processes.
• Familiarity with weld symbols, wiring and crimping requirements.
• Precision sheet‑metal inspection.
