Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager leads the company's food safety and quality assurance programmes, ensuring that all products consistently meet customer, regulatory and internal requirements. This role drives continuous improvement of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) while fostering a strong food‑safety culture across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the FSMS and QMS.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SSOPs, allergen management, traceability and relevant standards such as BRCGS, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, SQF and FDA.
• Lead internal audits, GMP inspections and coordinate customer, certification and regulatory audits.
• Oversee raw material inspections, in‑process monitoring, environmental monitoring and finished‑product testing.
• Manage laboratory testing programmes, equipment calibration and product release procedures.
• Investigate complaints, deviations and non‑conformances; conduct root‑cause analysis using 5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto and FMEA.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions and verify their effectiveness.
• Lead, coach and develop the QA team, laboratory staff and food‑safety personnel.
• Provide training on food safety, GMP, hygiene, HACCP and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading food‑safety and quality programmes in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of FSMS, QMS and applicable food‑safety regulations and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage audits, CAPA processes and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Excellent leadership and coaching skills to develop cross‑functional teams.
