Purchasing Officer

About the role

The Purchasing Officer will manage the sourcing, negotiation and procurement of materials, services and contracts that support facilities operations and project maintenance. This role ensures cost‑effective purchasing, compliance with quality standards and timely delivery to keep facilities running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase requests for facilities operations and maintenance projects, adhering to specifications and timelines.
• Source, evaluate and select vendors, negotiate pricing, payment terms and service levels, and issue purchase orders and contracts in line with company policies.
• Maintain a qualified pool of vendors and contractors, monitor performance, resolve delivery or quality issues, and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
• Collaborate closely with Facilities, Engineering and Project teams to understand technical requirements and support preventive and corrective maintenance procurement.
• Track costs, maintain accurate procurement records, prepare reports, cost comparisons and vendor performance evaluations.
• Ensure all procurement activities meet internal controls, audit requirements and safety standards, and support audit processes with complete documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience managing vendors for facilities, building maintenance or project‑based procurement.
• Experience dealing with contractors, service providers and technical suppliers such as MEP, civil works, equipment and consumables.
• Ability to coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
