Public Relations Specialist – Full‑Time

About the role

The Public Relations Specialist supports Mainline Health Systems’ public image and community presence. Working under the Marketing Manager, you will create and distribute communications that reflect the organization’s mission and patient‑centered care model.

Key responsibilities

• Write, edit, and distribute press releases, newsletters, website and social‑media content, brochures, flyers, and other materials.
• Develop and implement PR strategies to promote programs, services, events, and partnerships.
• Maintain relationships with local media, community partners, schools, businesses, and civic organizations.
• Coordinate media inquiries, prepare talking points, interview materials, and public statements.
• Support brand consistency by ensuring all communications follow approved messaging, tone, and visual guidelines.
• Assist with community outreach events, health fairs, ribbon‑cuttings, sponsorships, and other public‑facing initiatives.
• Monitor media coverage, social‑media engagement, online reviews, and public feedback, reporting insights to leadership.
• Gather stories, photos, and updates from departments and clinic locations for promotional use.
• Participate in crisis communication efforts under leadership direction.
• Maintain organized files of communication assets, media contacts, and event documentation while ensuring HIPAA and privacy compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Comfortable using standard computer applications and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
