Project Controls Head

About the role

The Project Controls Head leads the development and execution of the project controls framework for power generation projects, ensuring accurate cost, schedule, and performance data for executive decision‑making. This senior position combines leadership, financial governance, and risk management to drive project success.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce standardized policies, procedures, and reporting structures for cost, schedule, and change management.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary Project Controls team, including officers, analysts, document controllers, accountants, and schedulers.
• Maintain compliance with corporate financial standards, accounting principles, and project finance requirements.
• Establish control budgets, track committed and actual costs, and develop reliable Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts.
• Oversee cash‑flow projections, variance analysis, and alignment with corporate financing strategies.
• Implement and sustain an Earned Value Management (EVM) system and ensure a resource‑loaded critical‑path schedule.
• Prepare executive‑level reports summarising financial variances, risks, and project profitability.
• Manage change control processes, assess impacts on schedule, cost, and scope, and govern contingency fund usage.
• Supervise document control, ensure audit readiness, and act as primary liaison for internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in project controls within large‑scale engineering or power generation projects.
• Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting standards, and EPC contract terms.
• Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication abilities.
