Project Controller

About the role

Lycopodium Philippines is seeking a Project Controller to join its Project Services team in Manila. You will be responsible for ensuring that project budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting are accurate and aligned with the approved scope across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.

Key responsibilities

• Convert, manage and control project budgets, ensuring alignment with scope and capital cost estimates.
• Implement and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and map budgets to procurement and subcontract packages.
• Identify funding gaps, manage contingencies, and process change notices (PCNs) when budgets are insufficient.
• Compile change documentation, update the change register, and follow change‑management procedures.
• Monitor risks and events that could affect cost forecasts and overall project performance.
• Assist with payment processing, progress payment certificates, and foreign‑exchange adjustments.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in cost control, project accounting, or financial management, preferably in an EPCM environment.
• Experience in construction, mining, or oil & gas projects is advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, look‑ups, charts).
• Power BI for dashboard creation.
• ERP systems experience, e.g., SAP.
• Cost management software such as CMS.
• Strong knowledge of cost‑control principles, budgeting, forecasting, invoicing and change management.
