Product Development Engineer – New Product Development

About the role

Littelfuse is seeking a Product Development Engineer to join its Philippines New Product Development team. The role focuses on designing magnetic sensing and switching products and developing the associated manufacturing processes, moving concepts from idea through to production.

Key responsibilities

• Design new products and create related manufacturing processes, collaborating with engineering, process, manufacturing, equipment, and quality teams.
• Validate designs against customer requirements and standards through testing, product characterization, functional and material evaluations, and competitive analysis.
• Manage development projects in line with ISO/IATF procedures, recommend tools and equipment, and oversee formal design release.
• Report project status to management, coordinate with international safety agencies for product approvals, and provide feedback for design or manufacturing improvements.
• Lead technicians, offering direction and guidance, and participate in quality‑related activities affecting product performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in new product development, R&D, or related roles, preferably with high‑precision electromechanical products.
• Creative, curious, self‑motivated mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Project‑management experience in product design and process‑development projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software and mechanical design/dimensioning.
• Experience in tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability.
• Knowledge of ISO/IATF quality procedures.
• Project management capabilities.
