Procurement Supervisor

About the role

The Procurement Supervisor will lead the purchasing function for a mining operation, ensuring that all materials, equipment and services are sourced efficiently, on time and within budget. This role combines supplier management, inventory coordination and strict adherence to company policies to support uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily procurement activities, including sourcing, ordering and receiving of mining equipment, spare parts and operational supplies.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts and resolve issues to maintain quality and cost targets.
• Coordinate inventory levels with warehouse and operations teams to avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and relevant regulations.
• Maintain accurate records in the ERP system and generate regular reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in mining, construction or heavy industry.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Proven experience sourcing mining equipment, spare parts and operational supplies.
• Strong negotiation, communication and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
