Prior Authorization Consultant – Remote (Work from Home)

About the role

We are seeking a Prior Authorization Consultant to work remotely, handling authorization requests for medical services. The role involves interacting with the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, insurance carriers, and healthcare providers to ensure timely approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and monitor prior authorization requests via the EHR scheduling module, phone, or fax.
• Process referrals and submit required medical records to insurance carriers.
• Review patients’ medical histories and insurance coverage to determine eligibility.
• Maintain correspondence with insurers, physicians, specialists, and patients, documenting all actions in the EHR.
• Prepare and verify supporting documentation to expedite approvals and follow up as needed.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of all submitted information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (medical background preferred but not mandatory).
• Minimum 6‑month consultancy contract, renewable.
• At least one year of experience in prior authorization within a BPO healthcare setting (advantageous).
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work night‑shift schedules.
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable home workspace.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including scheduling modules.
