Principal Engineer, Product Engineering (Semiconductor)

About the role

Infineon is seeking a seasoned semiconductor professional to lead product engineering initiatives for advanced microcontroller products. In this senior position you will drive yield improvement, optimize test coverage, and shape cost‑reduction strategies across global manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve production failures using advanced laboratory tools and bench equipment to improve yield and product quality.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure efficient issue resolution and continuous enhancement of test coverage.
• Lead cost‑reduction projects, including test‑time reduction, yield improvement, fab site qualification, and manufacturing flow transfers to lower‑cost locations.
• Perform comprehensive customer return analysis and generate detailed failure analysis reports for corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead the bring‑up of product derivatives, supporting new sales opportunities and business growth.
• Define and implement test program improvements to boost product performance, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in product engineering, test engineering, semiconductor manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• Proven track record of delivering results through innovative problem‑solving and technical leadership.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross‑functional influencing abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet business objectives in a fast‑paced environment.
