PMO Vendor Management Specialist

About the role

The PMO Vendor Management Specialist supports project governance, performance tracking, and coordination for external vendor engagements. This role ensures that vendor‑delivered projects meet organizational standards, timelines, budgets, and contractual obligations while acting as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, execution and monitoring of vendor‑related projects, ensuring adherence to PMO standards and governance frameworks.
• Track project milestones, deliverables and timelines for vendor engagements and maintain comprehensive documentation, status reports and dashboards.
• Monitor vendor performance against SLAs, KPIs and contractual commitments, analysing delivery metrics, risks and issues.
• Facilitate regular vendor performance review meetings and coordinate corrective action plans for identified gaps.
• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business objectives and translate requirements into actionable tasks.
• Manage a portfolio of technical or IT vendor projects, prioritising initiatives based on strategic importance and resource availability.
• Act as liaison between internal teams (IT, procurement, business units) and vendors to ensure clear communication, escalation handling and issue resolution.
• Identify, track and escalate risks and issues related to vendor projects, supporting mitigation planning and maintaining risk logs.
• Support budget tracking, cost monitoring and invoice validation against contractual deliverables, ensuring compliance with contract terms.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in managing vendor‑related projects within a PMO or similar environment.
• Ability to act as a liaison between internal IT, procurement, business units and external vendors.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills to track performance, risks and financials.
