Playground & Play Space Designer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Playground & Play Space Designer to create custom outdoor play environments for parks, schools, municipalities and private clients. Working remotely, you will take projects from concept through detailed 2D and 3D visualisations, ensuring safety, accessibility and client goals are met before any equipment is installed.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 2D playground layouts and site plans in AutoCAD, incorporating equipment placement, safety surfacing, pathways and ADA‑accessible routes.
• Produce photorealistic 3D renderings and walkthroughs using Lumion or 3DS Max to support client presentations and sales proposals.
• Maintain design libraries, equipment catalogs and project files within the company’s proprietary design system.
• Collaborate with inside and outside sales teams to translate site constraints, budgets and client objectives into feasible design concepts.
• Ensure all designs comply with ASTM F1487, CPSC playground safety guidelines and ADA requirements, with training provided.
• Iterate designs based on client feedback, internal reviews and site survey data.

Required profile

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D site plans and layout drawings.
• Experience creating 3D visualisations with Lumion or comparable software.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating relevant 2D/3D playground or outdoor design work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn proprietary playground design software and complete a Certified Playground Safety Inspector course.
