Piping Engineer

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Piping Engineer to join its design team. You will be responsible for a significant portion of piping engineering and design across projects, collaborating closely with the Piping Lead, stress engineers, designers, and other disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare piping layout and 2D/3D models of piping systems, structures, and equipment.
• Participate in technical meetings and conduct 3D model reviews.
• Evaluate equipment and piping layouts to optimise installation.
• Prepare material take‑off (MTO), layout, isometrics and piping line lists.
• Review and approve vendor drawings and P&IDs for material conformance.
• Select special piping material components and prepare special item lists.
• Perform pressure‑retaining thickness calculations for pipe walls, spectacle blinds and other components.
• Identify scope changes and escalate to the Piping Lead or Project Manager.

Required profile

• Solid foundation in piping engineering fundamentals and relevant codes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
• Ability to manage workload, meet commitments and take ownership of tasks.
