Operator Technician – Ammonia Refrigeration Plant

About the role

The Single‑skilled Craft Technician (SST) is responsible for operating and maintaining the ammonia refrigeration plant that powers our ice‑cream production facilities. You will ensure safe, efficient cooling for freezers, tunnels, storage and auxiliary systems while following strict SOPs.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the ammonia refrigeration system in line with production cooling requirements.
• Monitor all plant parameters, record data in logbooks, and use SCADA to respond to alarms.
• Perform preventive and condition‑based maintenance on valves, controls, chillers, glycol and brine loops.
• Troubleshoot abnormalities, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Respond to ammonia releases with immediate isolation, repair, and restoration following emergency SOPs.
• Participate in safety drills and emergency response simulations.

Required profile

• Experience with ammonia refrigeration plants or similar industrial cooling systems.
• Ability to work shifts and follow detailed operating and maintenance procedures.
• Strong safety awareness and willingness to engage in emergency drills.
