Operations Supervisor

About the role

DHL Express is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead daily ground and area operations, ensuring shipments move through the network efficiently and in compliance with DHL standards. You will coordinate staff, manage inbound and outbound flows, and maintain high service quality across all shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily ground and area operations to meet transit time standards.
• Organise shift schedules and staffing levels according to operational demand.
• Oversee receipt, break‑bulk, inspection, sorting, handling and loading of inbound and outbound shipments.
• Monitor performance, implement corrective actions and drive productivity improvements.
• Maintain effective communication with customers, service centre manager and external partners such as airlines, freight forwarders and warehouse providers.
• Ensure safe working practices, support quality‑assurance programs and ISO compliance.
• Prepare operational and quality reports, monitor vendor performance and address operational risks.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising ground or logistics operations.
• Ability to organise staff rotas and manage shift coverage.
• Strong communication skills for internal coordination and customer interaction.
• Knowledge of safety standards and quality‑assurance processes.
• Experience working with external partners (airlines, freight forwarders, warehouse providers).
