Network and Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

Fluence is deploying a robust portfolio of energy storage projects across APAC, including multiple battery systems of 100 MW/400 MWh or larger. The Network and Cybersecurity Engineer will design, implement, and maintain network and security solutions that meet project requirements and protect critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system requirements, design specifications, and deployment instructions for network and cybersecurity needs.
• Lead security requirement reviews, network design assessments, and in‑house security testing of Fluence’s product suite.
• Monitor security tools such as vulnerability scanners, respond to alerts from hosting providers, and manage incident indicators.
• Implement and verify network controls with hosting providers, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS monitoring, WAF and DDoS protection.
• Remediate findings from penetration testing and integrate results into the vulnerability management process.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience with network and cybersecurity technologies.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity processes and frameworks such as NIST and AESCSF.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with firewalls, routers, and switches from vendors like Cisco and Fortinet.
• Proficiency in IDS/IPS, DNS monitoring, Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and DDoS protection.
• Use of vulnerability scanners and penetration‑testing tools (both open‑source and commercial).
• Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, AESCSF) and implementation of network security controls.
