Mid-level Software Engineer – AI & Cloud

About the role

We are looking for a Mid-level Software Engineer to join CHAMP Cargosystems’ innovation team in the Philippines. You will work on cutting‑edge AI, machine‑learning and LLM solutions that automate air‑cargo documentation, while contributing to both front‑end and back‑end services.

Key responsibilities

• Translate design specifications into clean, efficient Java code following company standards.
• Develop and maintain backend services using Spring Boot, Oracle/SQL Server/MongoDB.
• Build and enhance Angular front‑ends for internal tools.
• Integrate AI/ML models for OCR and document classification.
• Collaborate with product owners, QA, and other engineers in Scrum ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing applications.
• Travel to other CHAMP sites (Luxembourg, London, Singapore) as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Java and object‑oriented programming.
• Strong command of English and ability to work in a multicultural team.
• Proactive, flexible and comfortable collaborating across functions.

Required skills

• Java, Spring Boot, design patterns.
• SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB.
• Angular, GitLab CI/CD.
• Scrum/Agile methodology.
• Machine learning, OCR, AI, LLMs (experience a plus).
• Python, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) – optional.
